About Us

Elizabeth Lehmann, MA, MSW, LCSW is the developer of Restoring Connection® With Life & Thriving. She is passionate about helping people experience true joy and thrive during these times of tremendous change.
Whether through coaching, training, consultation, counseling, psychotherapy or her audio program, she's professionally been helping people shift from surviving to thriving for over twenty five years.
Restoring Connection is an inspired cohesive integration of several of the best of the best transformational approaches into one. Throughout the years, Elizabeth has had the privilege of directly learning from developers and master teachers of many different approaches that inform Restoring Connection. She is known as a gifted synthesizer.
Similarly, you can integrate this approach into whatever you're already doing, thereby further informing and enriching your life. Restoring Connection® can also be personally and professionally beneficial as an approach to growth and development, in and of itself.
Diverse professional and life experiences further inform her work including her first career as a high school teacher, an M.A. in Communications from Northwestern University, corporate sales, living abroad, having been a successful NYC photographer and psychotherapist, being single and married, spiritually connected and parenting.
Through "The Focusing Institute" Elizabeth's had the privilege of teaching:
Restoring Connection® With Life & Thriving organically emerged from within an ongoing experiential study group of helping professionals, which Elizabeth had the privilege of leading in New York City from 2006 - 2009. Without this original group there would be no Restoring Connection approach, which continues to evolve. For the last updated version (2015), click on: written_description_updated.pdf. It is currently being revised.
It was at the 2008 International Focusing Conference that she first had the pleasure of presenting Restoring Connection to an enthusiastic audience, for which Eugene Gendlin's Focusing serves as an underpinning. This was followed by presenting Restoring Connection in New York City to New York Metro Focusing and wellness centers in New Jersey. In May of 2014 she presented "Resiliency In Relationship: The Neurobiology of Rupture and Repair", aspects of Restoring Connection, at the International Conference of Focusing-Oriented Therapies. In the fall of 2014 at The Albert Wisner Library in Warwick, NY she presented an introduction to Restore Yourself While Learning How to Restore Others: An Integrative Training Program for Helping Professionals, with subsequent training given in 2014-2015.
Elizabeth's journal publications include:
"The King's Speech: Through The Lens of an Eloquent Case Presentation", Transformance: The AEDP Journal, March 2011.
"Integration for Increased Safety and Carrying Forward", The Folio: A Journal for Focusing and Experiential Therapy, Volume 25, Number 1, 2014. (final_version_folio_2014_article.pdf)
Her audio program Resilient-You: Bending With Strong Winds was released in December of 2012 and can be accessed anytime for free through its' website. It is also available for download purchase through iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon.
